His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday appointed various ministerial positions for the vacant cabinet posts in the Capital, Harare.
Honourable Felix Mhona has been appointed as the new Minister for Transport and Infrastructural Development. Hon Mhona is the Member of Parliament for Chikomba Central. He has served as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Budget,Finance and Economic Development.He is also a committee member of the Portfolio committee on Environment and Tourism.He did his primary education at Rutanhira Primary School and his secondary education at Presbyterian Secondary School. Mhona has a BCOM Marketing from Zimbabwe Open University and Masters in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent UK.
Honourable Michael Madiro has been appointed as the Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. He served as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage.
The President further appointed Dr Fraderick Shava, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Nations New York as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ruth Mavhinga to the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kindness Paradza to the Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services whilst Hon. Nokhuthula Matsikenyeri now serves as the Min.of Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Manicaland Province.
The appointments follow the untimely passing of the late Minister Joel Biggie Matiza , Minister Sibusiso Moyo and Minister Ellen Gwaradzimba who succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 virus.
