The Sinopharm vaccine landed in the country in the early hours of Monday the 15th of February 2021 from the People’s Republic of China.
The government has already set out a roll out plan whose first stage sees the frontline workers being among the first recipients of the dose.
Writing on his official Twitter account, the Secretary for Information, Mr Nick Mangwana said that Public Health Services personnel will receive 5 138, the Zimbabwe Republic Police will receive 1 375, Zimbabwe Defence Forces will have 604, the Zimbabwe Prison Services 436, private health workers will get 271 while the Immigration Services will have 500 doses.
Vaccines will be collected from the National Vaccine Stores and distributed to district vaccine stores on Tuesday the 16th of February for distribution on Wednesday the 17th of February.
