The late Zimdancehall crooner, Saul Musaka who was declared a liberation war hero by the Zanu Pf politiburo for his contribution to the music industry becomes the third artist to be given such an honour after Simon Chimbetu and Oliver Mtukudzi.
The hero status conferment has been received with mixed reactions by a cross section of Zimbabweans with some arguing against it while the majority has stood in the corner of the decision.
Social Media has been awash with a lot of comments.
One Thabi tweeted, ’hakuna zvakadaro…….who did he liberate? His hero status comes from the fact that he inspired many and possibly his contribution to the Zim dancehall music industry.’
Another section was in support of the hero status.
Elias Mambo tweeted ,”Some things need to change and heroes declarations should never be a preserve of a political party but should be in the national interest as there are heroes across all sectors.”

Another one, Jay Nyandoro tweeted, ”Sauro akakosha kudarika varikuvigwa kuheroes because hondo iyi akarwa tichiona kwete kuudzwa,I wish there could be a heroes yemaartist because these people give us hope and courage through music and drama. Rest in peace king.”
The majority of the ordinary people seem to be in agreement with the government with regards to Soul Jah Love’s status as a hero.

Soul Jah Love will be buried on Saturday at the Harare provincial heroes acre at Warren Hills cemetery.
