The road connecting Binga and Bumi Hills has been washed away by the incessant rains pounding the country disturbing business activities in the area and surrounding communities
Announcing through their official tweeter handle, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development said that the road is now in a very bad state which has affected business in the surrounding communities.
The road connecting Bumi and Binga stretches for 149 km and is mainly used by the tourism industry.
Tourism is the lifeline of Mashonaland West province as well as Matabeleland North.
Bumi and Binga are communities that are mainly anchored on tourism and hence the destruction of the road can retard business.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is faced with the toll order of rehabilitating roads throughout the country as the rains have destroyed roads as well as years of neglect by local authorities especially in urban areas.
The Bumi –Binga road is not the only one as the majority of roads mostly in Manicaland have also been affected by Cyclone Charlane and Eloise.
