Zimbabwe is going to participate at the virtual SADC council of ministers meeting to be held on the 12th and 13th of March which is centred on the topical issues affecting the region.
‘Honourable Professor Amon Murwira as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will lead the Zimbabwe delegation to the virtual meeting to be held this Friday ,12th March to Saturday 13th of Mach,
‘The Honourable is expected to be joined by Honourable Professor Mthuli Ncube, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Honourable Dr Sekai Nzenza,Minister of Industry and Commerce and Honourable Dr John Mangwiro, Deputy Minister of Health and Child Welfare.’ Said Mrs Constance Chemwayi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in a press release.
The Ministers meeting will be preceeded by the Standing Committee of senior officials meeting to be held on the 8th, 9th and 11th of March 2021 and the finance committee meeting on the 10th.
Mrs Chemwayi also said ,’The council of ministers will discuss issues such as the status of the region’s finances and approval of the 2021 /2022 budget ,update on the COVID-19 situation in the region ,maritime security issues ,recruitment of the next SADC Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary among other issues.’
SADC is a southern African regional body comprising of 14 member countries of which Zimbabwe is a member.
