The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is set to takeover the rehabilitation of urban roads that have been long neglected by councils mostly in major towns and cities.

To show commitment, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has already started with Arcturus road.

“We are ready to overtake urban roads rehabilitation” , said the Ministry on their official twitter handle.

Urban Councils mainly under the MDC Allience have long neglected urban roads though ZINARA releases funds to them.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development is moving with speed since the government declared the country’s roads, a state of national disaster.

Of all the urban councils, Harare City Council has been the worst performer as most roads have become absolute and unusable.
